Did Houghton Mifflin Harcourt help during the Covid-19 pandemic?


  1. Had to cut worker hours and pay to keep company afloat, but management continued working 5 day weeks while shifting most workers to a 4 day week. Management also took larger pay cuts than non-managerial staff (20% across the board, with VPs and above taking 25+% and CEO taking 50%). Goal was to avoid lay-offs (Bizjournals)
